Announcing New Line of Free Merriam-Webster Plug-ins for Firefox Users

SPRINGFIELD, MASS., March 2005 — Merriam-Webster, the country's leading publisher of print and electronic language reference products, has created new online tools specifically for users of Firefox, Mozilla's award-winning Web browser. Users may now customize their Firefox browser with free access to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary through a new line of Merriam-Webster plug-ins and extensions ranging from Search Box to Sidebar.

The Merriam-Webster Search Box Plug-in allows users to look up words instantly from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary from anywhere on the Web. Highlight a word on any Web page, and Merriam-Webster's Right-click Search allows access to words from the right-click context menu. Open a search pane in the Merriam-Webster Sidebar to look up words while browsing, or use the Merriam-Webster's Lookup Button to look up a selected word in a Web page. Additionally, accessing words from any page on the Web is now easier than ever before by adding the Merriam-Webster Search to the Firefox Toolbar extension.
